Too Many Tourists? Japan To Launch Preclearance Facilities in Taiwan
With the increase of Japan’s inbound visitors, the Japanese government plans to open preclearance facilities in several countries, including Taiwan, which ranks third in the number of tourists visiting Japan.

Taiwan Welcomes Ten Millionth Visitor and Becomes Ninth Most Visited Country in Asia
Taiwan's visitor expenditures grow annually and the island ranked number 24 in visitor expenditures in the world in 2014. This has attracted international hotel chains to invest up to NT$ 354.5 billion (approximately US$ 10.7 billion) in the local hotel industry from 2008 to 2016.

Chinese Tourists Only Bringing People and No Revenue to Taiwan?
Legislator Chen Ou-po says that the tourism industry has been overly dependent on Chinese tourists, but their average travel budget is only US$ 94. However, the average travel budget for Australian tourists is US$ 1,223, which means the expenses of one Australian tourist's equals to that of 13 Chinese tourists. Chen suggests that Taiwan should seek more tourists from other countries instead of relying on China.

Indonesia Grants Taiwan Visa Free Privilege
Indonesian Tourism Minister Arief Yahya says that from the tourism point of view, Taiwan is one of Indonesia's potential targets in promoting international tourism. He hopes that the number of Taiwanese tourists visiting Indonesia can reach 200 thousand people this year.

Taiwan To Extend Limitation on Number of Chinese Tourists
The National Development Council thinks there are ways to strengthen exporting services. Tourism in Taiwan is a part of the service industry; therefore there is still room for improvement and will be the focus for the second half of the year.
