TSMC Wins Case Against Former Employee Who Disclosed Classified Information to Samsung
After his non-compete clause ended in February of 2011, Liang Meng-song collected the obligated NT$ 46,000,000 (approximately US$ 1.4 million) worth of stock dividends and was employed at Samsung in July the same year. But TSMC suspected Liang of leaking classified information to Samsung and appealed to forbid him to work for Samsung until the end of this year.

Starting Salary of NT$22,700 for Substitute Military Service in 2016
The conscripts can negotiate with their bosses regarding salary after they finish their first year of the service period. The salary cannot be lower than the average monthly salary of rookies in the same industry or lower than NT$ 28,000 (approximately US$ 860).

Seven National Holidays Cut Back in Taiwan Starting From 2016
With the amendment of the Labor Standards Act being carried out in 2016, weekly working hours will be reduced to 40 hours and the Ministry of Labor has decided to unify leave benefits. It will promote five-day weeks and cut the number of national holidays from 19 to 12 days.

Alibaba Launches US$ 307 Million Fund for Taiwan Start-ups
Alibaba executive vice chairman Joseph Tsai points out, executive chairman Jack Ma found out from talking to Taiwanese entrepreneurs that the common concern is a lack of young successors.
