French Apprentice of Taiwan Legendary Traditional Puppeteer Holds An Exhibition in Taiwan
Legendary Taiwanese traditional puppeteer Li Tian-lu’s apprentice, Jean-Luc Penso, is holding an exhibition called “The Origin of Puppetry” at the Puppetry Art Center of Taipei, presenting many puppets and historical relics from France in hopes of helping the Taiwanese learn how the traditional art has been spread overseas.

How Severe Is the Haze in Beijing? Artist Makes A Brick Out of the Dust
This artist who calls himself, "Peanut Brother," said on his Weibo account that he started planning this project since 2013. He wanted to use a vacuum cleaner to collect the dust in the air of Beijing in 100 days, and then use the dust he collected to make a brick. This brick will ultimately be used as construction material and, "disappear among the millions of bricks. Just like dust," said Peanut Brother.

China to Implement Self-Examination System on Online Music Starting in 2016
The Chinese Ministry of Culture won’t censor online music, but will offer guidance for the companies regarding personnel training on self-examination. They will also perform random inspections on the implementation of the self-examination process. The new regulation also requires companies to establish blacklists to strengthen market inspection and a credible management system.

Taiwan Places Third in World’s Biggest Breakdancing Competition, BOTY
BOTY is now one of the world's oldest and the most influential breakdancing competitions, often referred to as the world cup of breakdancing. It was held in Braunschweig, Germany last weekend, and U-Taipei, representing Taiwan, advanced to the semi-finals and placed third in the competition.

Taiwanese Film Directors Hou Hsiao-hsien and Edward Yang Named Top Ten Asian Directors by BIFF
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of BIFF, the festival committee has launched a special program called, Asian Cinema 100. The program has selected 100 significant Asian films, and "A City of Sadness" by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien ranks number five while Taiwanese director Edward Yang ranks number seven with "A Brighter Summer Day." Hou also places number two among the top ten directors in Asia.
