What you need to know

Good Eye Taipei’s recommendations for Taipei’s best places to browse the shelves.

To get a taste of a city’s cultural landscape, the first place many visitors hit is a local bookstore. This is no different in Taipei.

Beyond the well-known Eslite bookstore chain and its 24-hour Dunnan Store, Taipei is home to many independent bookstores, each with their own unique taste and curation of publications.

“Good Eye Taipei,” a new bilingual Taipei city guide, shares six independent bookstores in the city to check out.
