Russian-language reports indicated that an explosion has occurred in the southern part of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, this morning.

Updated information indicates that the "powerful blast" occurred at the Chinese embassy and was caused by an explosive-laden vehicle that rammed into the compound's front gate. Authorities are present at the scene. Interfax news agency reports "several dead" and wounded. Reuters reports one dead (the driver of the vehicle) and three wounded.
