Following countries, including Kazakhstan, that have given Taiwan visa-free or visa-on-arrival access starting in October, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that five more countries have been added to Taiwan’s list of visa-friendly countries.
Currently there are 158 countries and regions that give Taiwan visa-free or visa-on-arrival access.
Rti reports, Taiwanese citizens can now travel to Ethiopia, Lebanon and Mauritania with visa-on-arrival access. Taiwanese citizens can also apply for electronic visas to travel to the United Arab Emirates and Zambia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs suggests that Taiwanese citizens who are going to travel to the countries mentioned above to visit the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs for important notices and regulations regarding visas beforehand.
Liberty Times reports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that right now they are continuing to promote regulations regarding driver’s licenses with other countries. This includes mutual recognition and exemption for holders of Taiwanese driver’s licenses in these countries.
In recent years, with the efforts of embassies and representative offices, 85 countries or regions that are the most visited places of the Taiwanese, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, France, Italy, Australia, the US and Canada, have started to accept Taiwan driver’s licenses and holders can apply for a local driver’s license without taking a driver’s test.
