Have you ever met someone who keeps on boasting and telling you the wrong facts? There is a phrase to describe that person’s actions. A person may be accused of blowing smoke when the listeners think what he is saying is false, misleading or that he will not actually do what he claims he will do. The origin may come from acts of magicians. Magicians use tricks such as smoke to make it hard to see what they are actually doing.
