湯匙放口袋 | Spoon in Pocket

Stylish light industry decorations add a funky modern tinge to this century-old building, where you’ll also find delicious food and colorful drinks, along with their signature ice creams. Once you’re full of heavenly flavors, be sure to take a walk and explore the heavenly backyard as well!
綠豆蒜 | Mung Bean Garlic
Address: No. 3-36, Fu’an Rd., Checheng Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan
Mung Bean Garlic gets its name from the fact that fully-cooked dehulled mung beans look very much like finely-chopped garlic. Dried longan fruit and brown sugar are added to make this delightful dish more filling. The recipe being a remnant from a time when rice was an expensive luxury. Though it’s a tradition in Hengchun to enjoy sweet mung bean hot, another popular option is to serve it on ice with homemade brown-sugar syrup as a host of other delicious toppings.
波波廚房 | Kitchen Swell

A stylishly remodeled old house, Kitchen Swell’s craftily mismatched furniture, dim lighting, and mottled walls definitely make it stand out from the crowd. Combining local ingredients and laidback southern charm, it’s a restaurant, bakery, ice cream parlor and grocery store all rolled into one, which means there’s a little something to suit every palate.
厚厚一片 | Hou Hou Yi Pian

With a catchy name that foodies might be tempted to translate as "Big Fat Slice", this cozy little pink and white eatery packs a big mouthful. Picture super thick slices of crispy toast, a rich milky aroma, and a range of toothsome toppings and spreads, and you’ll see why it’s the perfect choice for a decadent afternoon tea.
冷熱冰 | Hot Shaved Ice
Address: Roundabout on Xinsheng Rd., Chaozhou Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan
Imagine full, round and delectably chewy sticky rice balls ("tangyuan"), along with other tender and scrumptious cooked ingredients, all covered with silky snowflake shaved ice and topped with tasty brown sugar syrup. If you can, resist stirring this heaven-in-a-bowl and rather start from the bottom then work your way up. That way, you can savor both hot and cold melting in your mouth with every bite.
Lili 手作烘焙Lili Cake House

Look out for this old red-brick house converted into a bakery, where a limited amount of handmade daily baked goodies guarantees its customers ultimate freshness. Handmade desserts and various daily specials should also ensure a baker’s dozen of pleasant surprises.
